About e-factor
E factor Ltd is a social enterprise dedicated to Inspiring and providing professional support to individuals looking to become self employed or start a new business or enterprise.
We were established in 2007 and since then we have helped to start up over 650 local businesses that we estimate are providing over £225,000 per year in business rates and have employed over 700 people, many of whom were previously on benefits.
Our philosophy is that with the right attitude and determination and a lot of hard work, becoming self employed or starting a business is open to anyone.
Enterprise in Education
This is the message we take into Schools and Colleges throughout the area. Providing students with information and inspiration to consider self employment or becoming an entrepreneur as a real choice open to them. In addition we bring a new skill set to teachers, providing Professional Development in Enterprise education.
Inspiring Enterprise
Outside of full time education, our trained coaches will support an individual who simply has an idea and a lot of determination. A coach will make sure that the person is ready and aware of the demands of running a small business or simply working for yourself. Only when they are ready does an individual move on to one of our Business Advisors to discuss the business itself. This applies to groups and community groups too. Any community group considering turning their organisation into a social enterprise or community company can benefit from our experienced and qualified Social Enterprise Advisors, who will guide them every step of the way.
Start Up Business Advice
Our Business Advisors come from a variety of backgrounds with experience of running a business themselves as well as supporting business through positions in Banks, or HMRC. They are all is nationally accredited with SFEDI and hold the Chartered institute Of Management certificate in Management Consulting. In other words they are equipped with the credentials to be an effective and worthwhile support for any new or established local business.
Help for Existing Businesses
We provide support for existing businesses too through Business health checks that give you a fresh and objective look at your business and how it is performing, Advice and guidance on business improvement and a host of workshops on such things as HMRC, Finance, Marketing, Social media, Productivity etc.
Incubation Premises
e factor is also the owner of a number of business incubation sites, providing offices and industrial units for new and fledgling local companies.
