The reason the government is investing in programmes such as e-factor through Local Enterprise Growth Initiatives (LEGI) is its belief that they can be instrumental in releasing the economic potential in some of the most deprived areas across the country and in doing so will boost the local economy.

Alongside the work e-factor are doing with individuals and businesses there needs to be the involvement and support of the existing businesses in the area. Successful, local businesses are a great resource and source of knowledge and expertise that can benefit the whole business community.
