Would you know where to start or what you would need to do if you were running a business on eBay? Would you like to find out? This event is aimed at those of you interested in setting up business on line, what products to choose as well as where to find your products and manage your site.
Come and meet people who have already succeeded in making it by running a business online!
Adam’s partner, Sue, started using eBay in 2009 as a hobby and Adam could see the potential for a business. In September he was made redundant and set up Charmaholics eBay shop selling beads and bracelets from their home in Wellington Street, Grimsby. Adam now spends up to 5 hours a day looking after the online business which now pays all his bills and provides more income than his previous factory job. Often he spends a couple of hours after their two young children are in bed packing up orders of beads ready to post off.
Adam says that it’s really changed his life and the best bits are being able to manage his hours around family life and being able to have a coee when he likes.
“we’re so much closer as a family since I started my eBay shop - we have a proper Sunday dinner every week now because we have more time together. Working at home means that the radio station at work is always great!”
Adam has found that the most important things to keep the business running smoothly are being eficient and getting things done as quickly as possible and using a system to identify and control stock. Adam has used some of the skills he gained at work to help him in self-employment, like using an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all sales, which has helped to keep him organised.
